HWC - HomeWork Club
Learning and Growing Together
Welcome to the West End HomeWork Club (HWC)!
Keeping up with schoolwork can be challenging, and we're here to help. Our club is designed to create a safe and supportive space where students and their families can engage with the Australian Curriculum.
At HWC, our mission is to provide a supportive environment for students to complete their assigned homework with the assistance of educators and peers. Our weekly meetings ensure that students stay on track with their coursework and receive one-to-one or small-group support from experienced educators.
Our club is also an excellent opportunity for students to share knowledge with their peers, build relationships, and develop good work habits and a positive attitude towards learning. By participating in our program, students can develop the skills necessary to become independent learners and thrive in their academic careers.
So, whether you're struggling with a particular subject or simply looking for a supportive community to help you stay on top of your studies, HWC is here to help. So join us today and start your journey towards academic success!
HWC offers our students the option of HWClub or Learning Hub 247 to support and engage with their learning.

Meet the Team
With over 5 years of dedicated experience working with children across various age groups, I bring a wealth of expertise and passion for education to every endeavor. Holding a Bachelor of Education degree from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and registered as a teacher in Queensland, I am deeply committed to fostering the growth and development of young learners.
My journey in education began with enriching placements at West End State School, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience in classroom settings. Driven by a genuine love for working with children, I continuously strive to create engaging and supportive learning environments that nurture their potential.
Currently employed at a childcare center, I am actively involved in enhancing my understanding of child development and educational methodologies. My role allows me to implement innovative approaches to learning while fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere for every child.
In addition to my professional engagements, I have also gained experience in tutoring primary students, particularly in subjects like Chinese and mathematics.
This experience has honed my ability to tailor learning experiences to individual student needs, ensuring optimal academic growth and success.
I am deeply passionate about empowering children to thrive academically and personally.
With a blend of academic qualifications, practical experience, and genuine dedication, I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young learners.
Homework Club Facilitator
I'm Gwen. With a background spanning tax law, commercial banking, and investment administration, I'm now pursuing a Master's in Teaching at UQ.
In 2023, I founded Homework Club at WESS to support students in their studies, aligning our activities with the school's curriculum. By closely mirroring coursework, we identify gaps in understanding and provide tailored interventions promptly, ensuring every child receives the assistance they need to excel.
I am dedicated to education and an advocate for making a meaningful difference in the lives of the students I serve.

J Fok, Grade 2 and Grade 5 Parent
My children recently had the pleasure of joining the homework club and using the LH247 online tutorial service, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, every aspect of the experience was top-notch.
The teacher is exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and skilled at explaining complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner. She tailors her teaching style to match each individual's learning pace and needs, making the learning process not only effective but also enjoyable.
The platform's user interface is user-friendly and intuitive, allowing for easy navigation and access to the most important subjects such as Math and English. Scheduling sessions was a breeze, and I appreciate the flexibility in choosing the best suited my requirements.
Furthermore, the online program provides a wealth of supplementary resources and materials that complement the lessons perfectly. This thoughtful inclusion enhances the overall learning experience and helps reinforce the concepts taught during the sessions.
In conclusion, sending my kids to the homework club and joining the LH247 online tutorial have been a game-changer for me. The quality of teaching and the user-friendly platform make it an unparalleled learning resource. I cannot recommend this service highly enough and will undoubtedly continue using it for all my future learning needs.
